I enjoy working with runners of all abilities to help them accomplish their goals.
I am a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and USA Track & Field (USATF) Certified Coach and a lifelong learner who enjoys expanding his knowledge base. I regularly read books and listen to podcasts focused on running, training philosophy, exercise science, and sports nutrition. I have completed numerous half marathons, marathons, and ultramarathons.. I have personal experience with heart-rate based and power-based training, and I recognize the advantages and pitfalls of GPS smartwatches and emerging technologies.
I particularly enjoy working with runners/athletes who are looking to tackle a new race distance or challenge themself in a new way.
The choice of coach is an important decision, and the athlete-coach relationship should be a good fit. I believe in focusing on consistent, long-term improvement, enjoying the process and journey, and training in a sustainable manner that will help ensure longevity in the sport. I also believe in an individualized approach to coaching, recognizing that there is great variety in the backgrounds, schedules, support networks, and goals of various runners.
